Update from Queensland.

After Alice we headed for Mt Isa, camped 10 kms past devils marbles the first night, was down an old section of disused road. Went walking in the morning as I usually do, taking a few photos, ahh what’s that I see in the bush, bugger me it was a footy, in reasonable condition to.........

Fuelled up at Tennant Creek and arrived at the Isa about 3pm, booked into Sunsets park, had 3 nights camping in the bush so a few luxuries like shower and washing machines were welcome, also tea downtown at the Buffs club.....Yee haaaa......

In the morning took a drive out to Lake Moondarra, wow was really picturesque, 7 resident peacocks and an abundance of water birds and lots of different species of land birds, huge volume of water, skiing, canoing and fishing, whatever floats your boat.

Hit ithe road late afternoon, turned into Clem Walton Park on the Stuart Highway, another huge dammed lake presented itself, free camping here, good spot attested to by the 200 odd vans already there, we found a quiet little nook and camped the night.

Took lots of photos here, beautiful reflections in the early morning, stunning landscapes, great spot.

Had a look at Chinaman Creek dam, then onto Julia Creek(little town)bit of a look around Richmond, camped in the bush 2 kms west of Prairie on the Flinders Highway. Sleeping under the stars......I love it......

On the road early , arrived in Townsville about 2.30 and contacted the people whose house we were to sit in a weeks time, they insisted we camp at their place, so here we are, when they head off we can move into the house, got more tvs than Harvey Norman’s and pool, walking distance to all amenities, we house sitting till the 19 th August, will do day trips on the bikes from here and when the sit is completed head off to Cairns.....It has been and continues to be an amazing journey.....
